Shea is the Chief Executive of Morenz Group where he and his team provide strategic guidance and expansionary capital to privately held companies with a core focus on long-term sustainability. Shea is the CEO and Co-Founder of the Bobcat Group and a member of the Board of Directors for Quintana Minerals Corporation and the Spirit Golf Association.

Prior to Morenz Group, Shea was the CEO of Stratfor, a geopolitical intelligence firm based in Austin, Texas, for nearly 5 years. While at Stratfor, he drove the firm’s global business strategy, including the ongoing expansion of its services to corporations and organizations around the world. He also oversaw Stratfor’s operational efficiency, product development, growth and strategic client relationships.

Before joining Stratfor in 2011, Shea spent 10 years with Goldman, Sachs & Co. He was a Managing Director in the Investment Management Division and was the Region Head for Private Wealth Management for the Southwest Region. He began his career with the firm as an advisor to families, foundations and endowments on risk management. Previously, Shea played professional baseball for the New York Yankees.

Shea is involved with a number of community organizations, including the Texas Business Leadership Council and the Board of Visitors for the Menninger Clinic. He serves on the Chancellor’s Council and Development Board for the University of Texas System as well as the Advisory Council for the McCombs School of Business. Shea also serves on the McCombs School of Business MBA Investment Fund Advisory Committee as well as the UT Athletics NextGEN committee. Shea is the founder of the University of Texas 1883 Council. He is also a member of Young Presidents’ Organization, Austin Chapter.

Shea earned an MBA from the University of Michigan and a BBA in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin, where he lettered in both football and baseball and received Southwest Conference Academic Honors.
